Respectful Edappadiyar gave me the opportunity to serve as the Joint Secretary of the State Fishermen’s Wing of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK)—a party founded by Tamil Nadu’s revered former Chief Minister Dr. M.G. Ramachandran (M.G.R.), strengthened by the revered former Chief Minister “Amma,” and currently led by the revered former Chief Minister Mr. Edappadiyar.
Through this responsibility, I am committed to strengthening the AIADMK State Fishermen’s Wing and working for the welfare and upliftment of the fishing community.
Our official campaign slogan for AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) is “மக்களை காப்போம், தமிழகத்தை மீட்போம்,” which means “Let us protect the people and restore Tamil Nadu.”
Parliamentary Election –2024
In the 2024 Parliamentary Elections, I had the honour of contesting from the Kanyakumari Parliamentary Constituency as a representative of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. Though the final result was not in my favor, I never considered it a defeat. Journey in Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)
For 10 years as the District Secretary of the Fishermen’s Wing in the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and for 5 years as the State Secretary, I dedicated myself to the welfare, rights, and development of the fishing community. I organized and strengthened the party’s fishermen’s wing at the grassroots and state levels, coordinated public welfare activities, and addressed issues affecting fishermen, including livelihood, safety, education, and government benefits. I actively represented the concerns of fishermen before party leadership and relevant authorities, encouraged youth participation, and worked to unite fishing communities while promoting social welfare, political awareness, and community development across Tamil Nadu.
